We have strong community links with the following organisations.

We have been supporting the Four Greens Community Trust with food bank donations over the last three years.

Tom and Rachel Dunham support the school well throughout the school year. We have a number of children who are supported with mental health groups and mentoring and have been working alongside the Salvation Army to improve our community engagement.

We work with Devon and Cornwall Food Action throughout the school year. They have supported a number of families with food and  we have weekly food banks for parents to access.

We work with the Argyle Community Trust to support our PE provision in school. We also promote initiates for the Trust to enable parents and carers to access football in the community.

District Sports support the school with PE provision with specialist coaches and teachers working alongside our staff to enhance the PE curriculum.

We serve daily breakfast bagels on our playground for pupils who are unable to have breakfast.

The school is involved with projects which are run by Whitleigh Big Local.

The Big Local is an exciting opportunity for residents in 150 areas around England to use £1 million to make a massive and lasting positive difference to our communities. Big Local brings together local talent, ambitions, skills and energy from individuals, groups and organisations who want to make their area an even better place to live.

Big Local is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and Managed locally by the Whitleigh community.

At Whitleigh we are working alongside the Plymouth and Devon Equality Council.

We are hoping to attend the Respect Festival in July 2022.

This year the school have taken part in two Show Racism the Red Card Workshops at Home Park in Plymouth.

All discovery starts with first steps and in the case of Antarctica, these were made during the ‘Heroic Age’ of polar exploration in the 19th and 20th century.

Many of the expeditions at that time recorded scientific observations and brought back specimens, providing information of an environment unperturbed by human impact.

Little did the early explores know that they laid the foundations of Antarctic science that has become so crucial for predicting our future in the age of manmade climate change some 200 years later.

So, it is only befitting that our Antarctic Quest 21 expedition in 2021/22 commemorates the iconic explorer and leader, Sir Ernest Shackleton, in the centenary year of his final expedition to the Antarctic.

We have been working with Sustrans over the past two years. They have been instrumental at helping us with our Safer Streets campaign and ensuring children can come to school in a safe way.

We were one of 6 schools to take part on the Safer Streets Programme which was lauched across Plymouth
